THE INFLUENCE OF PUERTO RICAN MUSIC IN THE UNITED STATES
Guest Speaker:
Dr. Raymond Torres-Santos

Raymond Torres-Santos excels at orchestral, electronic and vocal music composition for the concert hall, ballet, film, theater, television and radio. A composer and musician, he is also a conductor who has led many American and European orchestras. His musical background covers a wide range of styles, from classical and jazz to pop and modern where he has distinguished himself as a composer, arranger, keyboardist and producer.

These excerpts look at some Puerto Rican influences on American classical and jazz music rather than our impact on the development of U.S. pop, rap and latin music which is better known.
