Into
the belly of beast! The Manhattan Correctional Facility, better known as
"the Tombs," provides the backdrop for an existential drama that pits black
against white and Puerto Rican as mediator. A microcosm of how we live,
this film adaptation of the successful play provides a cut-throat analysis
of sex, race and power in America. Oddly telling, the decent-looking, middle-class
man in the business suit is the most perverse among these criminals. He
is a child-molester--short eyes.
