  3. puerto rican day parade is not about puerto rican pride, its about skanky looking 15 year old puerto rican girls, latin kings, and street thugs trying to pick up these skanky puerto rican girls. The parade itself celebrates hip-hop music, and being puerto rican in NYC. Puerto Ricans from actual Puerto Rico have nothing to do with this parade and are not only ashamed of the parade, but the low-class thugs/skanks attending.

But you forget, most of the people on those floats ARE PUERTO RICAN, and represent, on their RADIO station float, BEING puerto rican. New York City, is a melting pot city, surrounded by urban influences. YOU CAN NEVER ESCAPE VIOLENCE, THUGS, or “SKANKY” women for that matter. IN ANY PARADE this applies. Do you know how much arrests and fights are reported after the St. Patricks Day Parade? Probably DOUBLE the amount of the Pr Parade. Yes, DOUBLE. So dont even try to pull the stereotypes out. Watch, or matter fact, go to the parade and youll see what its about, the beautiful floats, salsa dancing, the food, the stars that ARE puerto rican and love and represent the culture proudly (Marc Anthony, Tito Puente Jr., Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Linda Lopez, Elvis Crespo, Daddy Yankee and any other reggaeton star FROM THE ISLAND itself, and those are just to name a few successful individuals). So no, you are wrong, IGNORANT, perhaps a racist prick, and wouldnt know JACK SHIT about the Parade even if it crossed right in front of your house. So keep reading your newspapers looking for gossip columns and fight and arrests reports to come up with the truth about the PR parade.

  18. The PR parade is as stupid as all the Puerto Ricans who say that they love Puerto Rico BUT live in the states because they dont want to work and just want to live of welfare. Also once you are there for a while (I’ve seen people whith as little as 2 months) you forget to speak spanish and start to speak like “Am, am, como e que se dice eso que bites you… am, am, mosquito.   27. We puertoricans in New York do not need to have a parade. Eventually other ethnics groups will know that we are citizens of the United States and that we defend this great country in war even if we reside in the island. I enjoyed best the different festivals around the city with a boricua flavor. As a resident of New York for 45 years I never assisted to a parade. ¡Ah! yes, I was a member of the 65th Infantry Regiment in Korea and retired from the New York Telephone Company. ¿What Parade?

  28. Look, although is true that most puerto ricans are white, there are many who are indeed black. In the island where the sun burns your skin to a dark shade anyway, nobody cares about the color of your skin. In New York during the 60’s Ricans mixed with blacks and created a beautiful mix of people that impresses many still today. Even in the island since the early 90’s there are thousands of Dominicans, and that gave our population an even darker percentage. So who cares if most of us are white? The fact is that the island melted way before the mainland did and if you look closely you’ll see that as the US melts and progresses, most of the population has begun to look like trigueños as do we. Ricans have never had an issues with race or skin color because we are a mix of Spanish, Italian, Indian and even some african… Who would dare to create a issue having such a background? That’s the reason why it’s a world known fact that Ricans are Beautiful. I believe that The Parade celebrates that reality.
